Resident Involvement

WHAT IS ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR?

It is behaviour by residents, members of their household or their visitors, which cause annoyance, nuisance, or disturbance to anyone else in the area.

This can range from annoying things such as:

rubbish dumping
playing music too loudly
drug dealing
domestic violence
vandalism

How can we help you?

We believe that everyone has the right to live the way they want as long as it doesn't spoil the quality of life of others.  This means being tolerant, accepting and respecting the needs and choices of other people.

We want to make our schemes/estate homes peaceful and secure places to live. We will do this by working with residents and other agencies to:

Take action to stop anti-social behaviour and harassment of any kind
Respond to complaints quickly and in an efficient, sensitive and consistent manner
Offer support to the victim and take action against those responsible.
What should I do if I experience anti social behaviour?

We would encourage and help residents to solve their differences themselves. This is often the easiest way of solving a problem, as often people don't realise they are causing a nuisance until it is pointed out to them.

What should I do if the problem persists?

If it has not been possible for you to resolve the problem yourself, you should contact your Housing Officer/Scheme Manager or any member of staff to discuss your concerns in more detail and report the incident.
